For dental practices, med spas, law firms and CPA firms: check if your area is open.

Rows of bound law volumes on wooden shelves

Short answer: if you run a 1-10 attorney firm and want a published price, a fast reply to every call and inquiry, and a website you end up owning, compare FindLaw with Justia, Juris Digital, Rankings.io, On The Map Marketing, LawRank and a local option like Axeon. Each fits a different firm.

This guide sticks to what each company says on its own site, checked in October 2026.

Where something isn't published, we say so.

Who owns FindLaw now?

FindLaw is no longer part of Thomson Reuters.

Thomson Reuters closed the sale of FindLaw to Internet Brands on December 2, 2024.

Internet Brands also operates Nolo, Avvo and Martindale. If you are shopping directory listings, several of the big names now sit under one owner.

What does FindLaw include?

FindLaw's services page says it is "Trusted by 17,000+ Firms." It lists:

  • Website packages and local SEO
  • Legal directory advertising across FindLaw, Super Lawyers, LawInfo and Abogado.com
  • Pay-per-click ads, social media and content
  • Client intake, ratings and reviews, and INSIGHT analytics

Its call answering and web chat page describes 24/7 website chat and up to 24/7/365 phone coverage.

Operators collect contact details and the issue, then email a summary to the firm.

Price: quote-based; pricing not published on their site (checked October 2026). The intake page says you are "only charged for successful engagements."

Which companies do firms compare with FindLaw?

When may FindLaw or another option be the better fit?

Some firms are better served elsewhere:

  • You want directory exposure. FindLaw and Justia run large lawyer directories. If listings on those sites matter to you, go to the source.
  • You want live operators answering chats. FindLaw offers human-staffed chat and call coverage.
  • You are a personal injury firm with a national budget. Rankings.io is built around PI.
  • You practice in several states. A national agency with offices in more than one market may suit you.
  • You only want a low-cost website. Justia Elevate publishes a low starting price.

Why is Axeon the better fit for a small Iowa firm?

For a 1-10 attorney firm in Iowa or the Midwest, these are the things we can show you in writing.

The price is published

  • AxeonCORE: from $799/mo on a 12-month agreement
  • $0 setup (normally $3,000)
  • Month-to-month with the $3,000 paid upfront
  • Prepay a year for $7,990

AxeonCORE includes a custom website, local SEO (Google Business Profile, practice-area pages, a review request after every consultation), call tracking and AxeonPROOF.

AxeonGROWTH is $1,999/mo plus ad spend ($500/mo minimum, paid to Google directly, no markup), also on a 12-month agreement. It adds ads management, quarterly photo and video, and campaigns to past clients.

Want ads on AxeonCORE? Add them for +$750/mo plus ad spend. Full details on our pricing page.

You see the numbers live

AxeonPROOF puts calls, inquiries and reviews in one monthly dashboard.

You know what you own

  • Your domain, Google Business Profile and contact data are always yours
  • The website design and code become yours once the 12-month term is paid
  • The intake system, numbers and AxeonPROOF are a service and stop if you leave

A written 90-day performance commitment

  • Every missed call and web inquiry gets a reply within 60 seconds
  • Every completed appointment gets a review request

If any of those slip in the first 90 days and aren't fixed within 15 days, you can walk away and owe nothing for the rest of the term.

We don't promise rankings or a number of new clients or cases.

One firm per practice area, nearby

We take one firm per specialty within 5 miles. We won't work for the firm down the street that does what you do.

A team you can meet

We're in West Des Moines. You can sit across the table from the people doing the work.

We're a newer agency. Our earlier builds were for local service businesses, so we don't have a law firm logo wall. We'd rather show you the system on your own numbers.

See how it works by practice area: personal injury, family law, criminal defense and estate planning. Or start at our law firm page.

What do bar rules mean for your marketing?

Whoever you hire, the ads carry your name.

In Iowa, the Iowa Rules of Professional Conduct cover this in three rules:

  • 32:7.1: no false or misleading statements about you or your services
  • 32:7.2: specific rules, including no "specialist" claim without a named certifying body, and the name and contact information of a responsible lawyer or firm
  • 32:7.3: limits on soliciting clients

Rules 32:7.4 and 32:7.5 are reserved.

Have an attorney approve every page, ad and auto-reply before it goes live. Other states have their own versions. This is not legal advice.

How do you choose?

Ask every company the same questions:

  • What will I pay each month, all in?
  • How long is the term, and how do I leave?
  • What happens to a call at 9 PM?
  • Who owns the website and domain if I go?
  • What will I see each month?
